Day 82

First: watched ASAP Science while aboard Virgin America (youtube channel).
Section that stood out at me: “Amazing facts that will blow your mind Part 1”.

1.  Cashews grow on apples
2. Mushrooms are more closely related to animals than to plants (this actually was not that surprising)
3. trees grow out of the air, not the ground
4. there is enough water in Lake Superior to cover all of North and South America with 1 foot of water.
5.  we  have more bacteria cells in our bodies than somatic cells
6. one percent of world’s population  is drunk at any given moment.
7. we spend roughly six years of our lives dreaming
8. 11 days (264 hours) is the longest recorded time period someone has gone without sleep

Day 81

Definite FIRST!  Officially became a Godmother to the cutest Godson ever.. Aidan Joseph Hardy.   While my church is the outdoors, my lovely older sister still chose to ask me to embrace this special role and I found the experience in her church quite special.   Magical day.

Fun sidenote ‘first’.. my mass for the day 😉    kayak on Lake Barcroft where my sister lives in Virgina. Cool spot

for this lil’ guy to grow up in.

(second pic is of my mother who looks 20 years younger than her birth certificate leads on!  keep it up, Ma!)

“And one at the keyboard has an unrealized power to take a small trip, a completely satisfying journey or nothing at all. But to ponder upon what is before them as many have traveled well enough to succeed in their visions.

It is an extension of all that what human ingenuity and the appreciation of the craft in making sounds and rhythmic elements that can influence thought, emotion and feelings of accomplishment. Here sits a tool of versatile expression, relating to all that has come before it, both through history and its ability to communicate with others if not of the self, in the appreciation of music and what it can mean.

And when your traveling is done, be it a modest walk or a grand expedition through time or a steady, sensual plane, then one would have to delight in such a discovery that can be so accomplished with little effort.

Especially in the love for piano and the music it can provide us all. Even in our most private moments in time, no matter what simple efforts we can make. It can be an adventure. “

Day 78

Massage trade with Kristina Lentz, CMT, in San Rafael.  Gotta keep trading and learning new skills!  Love the messages on the wall

as I walked up the stairs to her office.  I only practice massage on the side, but whenever I do I am reminded of how healing human touch

is!  Also, whatever your craft, having others than yourself to learn from and to share your knowledge with is crucial.  Important for us

entrepeneurs to keep in mind 🙂

Day 74 – DO hold your breath ;)

Today’s first – static breath hold personal best (lame in comparison to the pros, but I was stoked as I’ve never held my breath past 50 seconds or so.  Certainly have a lot more to learn and a ton of techniques to practice.) For me there is nothing more meditative than an activity that draws the mind into the body and while I had anticipated taking my thoughts to a far away land during this exercise, it turned out the pre-hold breathing techniques pulled me right inside to my core essence. We all know our weaknesses, holding my breath has always been a weak spot.. was amazed when I was able to hit 2 minutes and 40 seconds this afternoon.  I can attribute it completely to the instructors and the techniques they taught us to decrease the amount of CO2 in our blood so the body doesn’t feel the dire need to exhale.  Learning more on the physiology behind all this tomorrow.  Funny when we allow ourselves to swim in our fear.  Growth. Discovery. Potential we were unaware of to be found..

While I didn’t snap any pictures during the course (wasn’t the right vibe), this was a pic along my route home.  Stayed in the woods this weekend.. goodness nature is my church.
